Crowds lined up as early as 2:00am outside the gates of Disneyland Park, Anaheim. The Disney app was up and running at 8:00am for those wishing to get on the Rise of the Resistance. Groups were assigned and SOLD OUT within 45 seconds of the opening! Needless to say there were LONG wait times. R2 D2 was out greeting guests. Once inside the staging area, groups were given a color assigned specific to each group for seating positions. Storm Troopers were on patrol to maintain control of the "prisoners". Once inside a holding cell, prisoners are visited by Kylo Ren until he is interrupted and needed on the bridge. It's at that moment the prisoners are aided in escaping when an exit is made for them through one of the walls. They are then loaded onto prisoner transports driven by droids. Uh oh! SPOTTED by Storm Troopers, the prisoners have to try to make an escape quickly before Kylo Ren is told.
Stay tuned for Part Two! The Rise of the Resistance attraction debuts at Disneyland Park's Galaxy's Edge TODAY. We will have coverage of this awesome event in a later post. My brother has an EXTENSIVE DVD and Video library, I have asked him to review the iconic Star Wars films. *all images are from his film collection I have never been a STAR WARS geek. I was Team Indiana Jones as a kid. But.... I loooved The Force Awakens when it came out, I saw it four times, and yes it was totally slavishly faithful to A NEW HOPE, but I had such a great time and loved every second of it. Rey was cute, BB 8 was even cuter, and Han Solo will forever be cool. As aforementioned, I was not a STAR WARS kid/geek - so my fanboy level of satisfaction isn’t one that Disney has to really pacify. I enjoyed Rian Johnson’s BRICK and LOOPER (especially), but I was and remain disappointed in this film... I felt it was long, and meandering down roads I couldn’t care about (casino planet)... while at the same time there are three AMAZING AMAZING sequences that make this film and still give me absolute goosebumps:
1) Princess Leia uses the force to fly back thru space. 2) The slow motion throne room battle. 3) Luke says farewell to Leia and faces down Kylo Ren while John Williams slays us all with 3 minutes of glorious music entitled “The Spark”....ohmygodohmygod.... Also, the scene between Luke and Yoda. I really miss Carrie Fisher, and her no nonsense tell it like it is storytelling, humor, and courage... she lived it all and was full of advice. I enjoyed the RISE OF SKYWALKER and will share my thoughts on the film after it's release on Blu-Ray, sometime in March. @ahfdvds According to the Business Insider, the news was announced at an investment conference on Tuesday by Build-A-Bear CEO Sharon Price John. Build-A-Bear, which already carries a wide variety of other Star Wars characters, started the process to make Baby Yoda plushes a reality when the first episode of "The Mandalorian" aired, according to John. "I'm excited to share that we'll be one of the first companies to be able provide the new digital and internet phenomenon who is trending higher than all of the presidential candidates combined," she said. "We now will have The Child, also known as Baby Yoda."
"It shows our nimbleness and ability to recognize trends," John said, noting that the make-it-yourself stuffed animal company has seen a big growth in adults buying its products after partnering with companies like Disney, Lucasfilm and Warner Bros. Snow White's Scary Adventures temporarily closed January 7, 2020 at Disneyland Park to allow Walt Disney imagineers to make updates to the dark ride attraction's abrupt ending. Reports are that the ride will feature a new scene of a waking Snow White surrounded by her loving friends, along with a happy ending, once it reopens May 21, 2020. The original dark ride was in operation from 1955 - 1982, under went a facelift then reopened in 1983 as part of the new Fantasyland expansion. A coded key lock stands at the attractions main entrance to allow for workers to enter. Black tarps hang from the attractions queuing /staging area, as if the Evil Queen Grimhilde has ordered her goons to shroud the castle in darkness. We will be excited to see the new features added to this beloved and historic attraction. Hmm...wonder if anyone can hear the imagineers "whistle while they work"?
