Hi, I’m Rhonda—the voice and heart behind this blog. Growing up in Downey, just 14 miles from Disneyland, my family made regular visits long before annual passes were even a thing. Some of my most magical childhood memories are from those days spent at Disneyland and the Disneyland Hotel with my dad, who handed down his love for the park to me. His first visit was in 1962 when he was 18, and I was lucky enough to experience my first visit at just 18 months old.
From the 1970s through the early ’90s, Disneyland was more than a place — it was where I spent afternoons after school, weekends, and countless special days. Though many of those moments weren’t captured on film, they remain vivid in my heart and imagination.
This blog—and my YouTube channel—serve as a personal archive, a place where I preserve precious memories from my own Disney-filled childhood alongside the rich history of Walt's original vision. I believe nostalgia is powerful, and I want to help keep those golden-era memories alive for anyone who holds a deep love for Disneyland’s past.
My childhood was filled with creative and joyful adventures, nurtured by my love of musical theater. In 2012, I ran a princess party business, bringing a bit of magic to local community centers, hospitals, libraries, and birthday celebrations.
Since 2017, I’ve been documenting both current visits and timeless stories from Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, and all things vintage Disney. I'm so glad you're here to walk down memory lane with me.
