I'm a HUGE Back to the Future fan! The Enchantment Under the Sea dance was a high school dance that was held at Hill Valley High School on Saturday night, November 12, 1955 . It was the dance in which Marty McFly 's parents George McFly and Lorraine Baines fell in love after their first kiss. Hill Valley High School is actually Whittier High School in Whittier, CA. The school is located 9 miles from my home town. In fact the movie was filmed all over Southern CA where I grew up.
The famous Doc Brown scene at the mall in the beginning of the film was shot at Puente Hills Shopping Center where my mother worked in a candle store. My dad's brother-in-law, who works at Universal Studios, CA, was part of the crew that built the Hill Valley courthouse square on the Universal Studios back-lot. As well as the Clock Tower for the famous lightning strike scene. It's been a while since this blog posted DISNEY related stories. Life's been busy and cosplay takes up a lot of my time. Working on new characters, sewing and crafting new projects and upgrading/updating current characters can be time consuming.
I'm happy to announce that this blog will be posting TWO (2) new Disney features beginning in March. * Walt Wednesday - posting Weds and listed as such in category section * Disney History - random posts on Disney history, listed in category section See you soon! Job Switching aired Sep 15, 1952 After Ricky and Fred get upset about the girls' spending, Lucy and Ethel go to work in a candy factory while the boys do the housework.
All Tess Trueheart wants is to settle down to a quiet life with her boyfriend, detective Dick Tracy. But there's something pretty rotten going on in town, with someone pretty rotten behind it, and Tracy has his hands full with the likes of villain Big Boy Caprice and with the almost irresistible Breathless Mahoney.
Dick Tracy is an American comic strip featuring Dick Tracy (originally Plainclothes Tracy), a tough and intelligent police detective created by Chester Gould. It made its debut on Sunday, October 4, 1931, in the Detroit Mirror, and it was distributed by the Chicago Tribune New York News Syndicate. Gould wrote and drew the strip until 1977, and various artists and writers have continued it. Dick Tracy has also been the hero in a number of films, including Dick Tracy in which Warren Beatty played the lead in 1990. Warren Beatty produced, directed, and starred in the film, whose supporting cast includes Al Pacino, Madonna, Glenne Headly, and Charlie Korsmo. Dick Tracy depicts the detective's romantic relationships with Breathless Mahoney and Tess Trueheart, as well as his conflicts with crime boss Alphonse "Big Boy" Caprice and his henchmen. Tracy also begins fostering a young street urchin named Kid. Development of the film began in the early 1980s with Tom Mankiewicz assigned to write the script. The screenplay was written instead by Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr., both of Top Gun fame. The project also went through directors (Steven Spielberg, John Landis, Walter Hill, and Richard Benjamin) before the arrival of Beatty. It was filmed mainly at Universal Studios. Danny Elfman was hired to compose the score, and the film's music and songs were featured on three separate soundtrack albums.
