Located next to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, EngineEar Souvenirs features a selection of Mickey Mouse and pals toys, apparel, headwear and more to “choo-choo-choose” from – including the new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Remote Control Trackless Train. EngineEar Souvenirs offers merchandise mobile checkout, which enables guests to scan and pay as they shop for select items right from their phones using the Disneyland app. The entire store is dedicated to rich Disney nostalgia including Walt's love of trains. Notice here are paint jars of Mickey Mouse colors! These colors are for Goofy! Pastel jars of paint for Daisy Duck. These are for our beloved Donald Duck. Walt had his own little tiny miniature train in his backyard in Carolwood and the first day he rode on that train was May 7th 1950. You'll see that year on the register. Another register says $12.05 which is Walt Disney's birthday. And on the register next to it, it says $124.93 which represent the day that Toontown opened officially. There's a real mini train riding high above the store and guess who the engineer is??
Donald Duck!! Disneyana is merchandise officially licensed by the Walt Disney company which could be theme park souvenirs, books, toys or even artwork. But this location wasn't always the home to collectible memorabilia inside of Disneyland. In 1955 when the park opened this was a bank. The Disneyland Park map listed this as a bank and eventually would also become an annual pass center. Guests could do banking at Disneyland with Bank of America, which goes back to Snow White as the corporation's original banking partner. So Bank of America got a location inside of Main Street USA as an official sponsor and a financial partner with Disney. Today you can still see the Vault inside, as well as the teller station where bank tellers used to handle checks, deposits, and withdrawals. The corner location would become Disneyana, a sort of a merger between art gallery and retail shop.
