 Celebrating 90 Years! Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. As this year marks its 90th anniversary, we are celebrating the legacy of this beloved establishment through a wide range of offerings all year long. WATCH THE VIDEO SHORT   I wanted to create a fun Peanuts themed outfit and ran across this adorable cotton fabric. I bought enough to make a lace trimmed skirt. I paired it with a black shirt and my Snoopy crossbody bag. I've worn this checked newsboy cap before to Knott's Berry Farm.       On the afternoon of March 26th, 1975 a fire occurred at the show building for Knott's Bear-y Tales. Estimated damage - upwards of $3 million and water damage to the Palm's Casino and Buffalo Nickel Arcade below. The fire was said to have been started by an arson related incident and to this day the Arsonist(s) were never caught. Rolly Crump did suspect it had something to do with a Union dispute since Fantasy Fair, who worked with Crump, were part of a Non-union.
When the fire occurred, scenes said to be completed were both the Factory and the Frog Forest scenes. And of these it was reported that the set pieces, rock work, and trees had been installed. Thankfully no animatronics had been installed yet. The ride's proposal date for opening was June as part of the Roaring 20s area but due to the fire, the ride was delayed much further until 4th of July weekend.  Look how beautiful Independence Hall looks with a freshened paint job!      Not quite sure what's going on at KBF and the new management team....namely Knott's latest round of strange budget cuts. Knott’s Berry Farm has cut over 5,000 man hours and that’s just in the foods division. Other odd cuts are no aluminum foil wrapped baked potatoes, no ribs from Fireman’s and rumor has it, Fireman’s is also losing chicken. The new $50 parking lot is open and the park is still not accepting cash… And Knott's has increased the price of a slice and a whole pie. September 2022, the same slice was $4.50 and a whole pie was $18. NOW a slice is $7.25 and a whole pie is $22! That's a HUGE increase!  September 2022   Old Betsy Is back after a freshening up too!!!      The Fiesta Village makeover is looking GREAT!!!    Lots of new walls up around Camp Snoopy.
Its unclear what will be replacing the Camp Bus or Timberline Twister. Both rides have been removed from the website, as well as the park map on the Knott’s app.   |
