The smart and charming tradition of Disney's live-action adventures continues on in this film about two psychic orphans who head for Witch Mountain to escape evil and discover their true identities. Unfortunately, their unusual abilities attract the attention of a greedy industrialist, who quickly tries to capture them for his own profit. But the plucky duo soon escape, intent on finding their real home and discovering the secret to their magical powers. This Disney classic was adapted from a novel by Alexander Key. While there is no official attraction of this film, Cars Land has a poster featuring a nod to the film during it's Halloween time.
Cars Land invites guests to step right into Radiator Springs and meet all of their favorite friends from the hit Disney and Pixar films “Cars,” “Cars 2” and “Cars 3.” Spanning a whopping 12 acres in Disney California Adventure Park, Cars Land is truly a must-see for anyone visiting the Disneyland Resort. Cars Land is home to one of the largest and most elaborate attractions created for any Disney theme park, Radiator Springs Racers. Cars Land opened in June 2012 and is what Bob Iger, executive chairman of The Walt Disney Company, calls the“crown jewel of our Disney California Adventure expansion.” The land is an exciting experience for the entire family that captures the essence of Disney storytelling. Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree now receive delightful overlays each holiday season, transforming into Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree. Guests can interact and pose for pictures with Lightning McQueen, Mater, and their friend Cruz Ramirez from the Disney and Pixar film “Cars 3.” The towering Cadillac Range mountains serve as a majestic backdrop for Radiator Springs Racers.
Car buffs may notice the 6 mountain peaks look like tail fins of classic Cadillac models from 1957 to 1962. The mountains are inspired by the iconic Cadillac Ranch public art installation along Route 66 near Amarillo, Texas. Radiator Springs is a awesome at Disney's California Adventure. It's amazing to me the creativity of this land specifically utilizing everything car themed. They didn't overlook a thing. The landscape throughout Cars Land continues the legendary, detail-oriented storytelling that can only be found at Disney Parks. From the tail-light “flowers” at Cozy Cone Motel to the tire-inspired topiaries just outside Casa Della Tires, the landscape looks as if the beloved cast of “Cars” decorated each of their homes in Cars Land. The dry, rocky look of Cars Land also immerses guests in the Route 66 theme. The atmosphere outside Flo's V8 Cafe is sooooo 1950s! I love the colors and the music. Modeled after roadside eateries along the original Route 66, Flo’s V8 Cafe is a delicious quick-service dining location for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Now, guests may use the mobile ordering feature on the Disneyland app, for convenient mobile ordering and quick pick-up at Flo’s. Some of the menu’s highlights include Flo’s famous fried chicken, brioche French toast with salted caramel and bananas and Flo’s classic shake for dessert. Radiator Springs Car Racers. Kick the fun into overdrive as you buckle up for a road race featuring familiar car-acters, fantastic scenery and “wheel” thrills. Tour Ornament Valley and arrive in Radiator Springs—the cutest little town in Carburetor County—where the movie Cars springs to life. As you prep for the big race, all the locals show up to help.
