Old Hollywood glamour.....ahhh...the stuff MY dreams are made of!
Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall and Marilyn.
I met Lauren Bacall. 1986 Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. She was starring in Sweet Bird of Youth. I waited by the back stage exit, (I know, cliche), when she walked out my back was turned. I felt a tap on my shoulder and heard "excuse me." I turned to stand face to face with a Hollywood Legend. She was 62 and so glamorous, regal, majestic wearing a black and white striped turtleneck and black pants. I couldn't speak. She somehow knew.
"Hello." I replied.
She breezed passed towards her waiting car. For such a brief encounter, I was forever impacted.
I found both pair of shoes at a vintage resale. They're not vintage, strange, but I bought the gray pair with intention of making them over to look something like what Betty Grable would wear in Pin Up Girl.
I painted the soles red, then coated the shoes with Mod Podge. Sprinkled generously with a mix of silver, pink and magenta glitter! Sealed with Mod Podge (after several coats of glitter).
Ooo LA LA - OBSESSED!
This is the room where I keep everything cosplay. I have a separate room for sewing and crafting. Just thought I would give you a little tour.....
The dress form needs replaced. I have used it so much, its barely standing hahaha.
In all honesty, this is just a "glorified" catch all room. If I were to stop cosplay, it would be a vacant space. I like having the idea of a dressing room, here I can lay things out and see what's needed for photo shoots.
Bad! Bad wig storage.....I have more set on mannequin heads in another room.
Makeup and jewelry mostly fill the table.
I found this adorable red fabric with sleeping Snoopy print and decided to make PJ bottoms to go with my custom Snoopy shirt.
Growing up in Los Angeles in the 70s/80s we visited Disneyland on a regular basis and often after school, before "Annual Passes".
