After the War One year after Captain America's disappearance, Agent Carter was transferred to New York City. There she moved in with a another woman named Colleen O'Brien, with whom she developed a close friendship. Unfortunately, Carter also found that her boss, Chief Roger Dooley, and her male co-workers underestimated her abilities because of her sex, and was often given menial tasks. In 1946, Peggy Carter, mourning the apparent death of Steve Rogers, returns to work for the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) in New York City following the end of World War II. The SSR investigates industrialist Howard Stark for apparently selling weapons to enemies of the United States. Stark secretly contacts Carter, and asks her to help him clear his name. Peggy Carter is trying to find her place in the world, without Steve Rogers.
Let's take a close look at the statues of Walt and Roy, his brother. They are found at the Walt Disney Studios. I had the honor of visiting the studio and was thrilled to see these statues in person. The statue was created in honor of Walt's 100th birthday: December 5, 2001 Dedicated on October 18, 1998, the plaza features the Partners statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. This statue is the same found in Disneyland park's central hub just in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Interesting feature: the initials on Walt's tie are STR, and stand for Smoke Tree Ranch. An area in Palm Springs, CA where Walt owned a vacation home. In the Disney Legends Plaza is the statue of Roy O. Disney and Minnie Mouse, designed by Imagineer Blaine Gibson. It is the same statue found at the Magic Kingdom park in Florida.

Directions: In an electric mixer, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and shortening and mix until consistency of coarse meal. Combine baking soda and butter milk in a separate bowl and beat with a spoon until foamy and thickened. Add butter-milk mixture to flour and beat until well blended. Do not overbeat. Mixture will be sticky. Turn out onto a well-floured board, sprinkle top of dough with flour and pat until one-inch thick. Pour enough oil into a jelly roll-type pan (approximately 11” x 7”) to measure ¼ inch (or about ¼ cup of oil). In a second pan pour an equal amount of oil. Cut biscuits with cookie cutter or drinking glass and roll each biscuit in the first pan of oil, then place in second pan. (Oil will cling to dough, which is desirable.) Continue cutting and rolling in oil until second pan is filled. Biscuits should be touching each other. Pat top of biscuits with oil from first pan. Bake in preheated 500 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Makes approximately 18 2” biscuits or 20 1¾ biscuits or 30 1½ biscuits. The following recipe is from the Walt Disney archives. I personally had a delicious bowl of Walt's favorite chili during my visit to the Walt Disney Studios, Burbank. Now you can make it in your own kitchen at home. Ingredients Chili 2 lbs. coarse ground beef 2 onions, sliced 2 cloves garlic 1⁄2 cup oil 1 cup chopped celery 1 tsp. chili powder (depending on taste) 1 tsp. paprika 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 large can solid pack tomatoes 2 lbs. dry pink beans Salt For Extra Zest Add a pinch of the following spices: 1 little yellow Mexican chili pepper Coriander seeds Turmeric Chili seeds Cumin seeds Fennel seeds Cloves Cinnamon Dry ginger Preparation
Soak beans overnight in cold water. Drain, add water to cover (2 inches over beans), and simmer with onions until tender (about 4 hours). Meanwhile, prepare sauce by browning meat and minced garlic in oil. Add remaining ingredients, and simmer for 1 hour. When beans are tender, add sauce to beans and simmer for 1⁄2 hour. Serves 6 to 8.
