Located in New Orleans Square, originally designed and called The Royal Suite, due to the discrete entrance on Royal Street. It was intended to be a private apartment for the Disney family. It was later opened in 1987 to the public and introduced as the Disney Gallery. The stairway leading up to the second floor gallery just above the Pirates Of The Caribbean attraction. The 3000 square foot Disney Gallery interior had various rooms and short hallways. It was decorated in the Victorian style with elegant moldings and parquet floors. Unfortunately the images are old and of poor quality. Towards the back was a small patio with outdoor iron furniture. The ornate iron railing just outside the art rooms, still has the initials WD and RD curled into filigree as tributes to the Disney Brothers.

A letter arrived for Walt in late June 1955 from a woman on the east coast whose seven year old son was dying of leukemia. The boy had been watching about construction of the park on the Disneyland TV show and only wished to ride Walt Disney’s train.
Walt felt tears come to his eyes as he read the letter and immediately told his staff to prepare to have the boy and his family visit. He took the boy to Disneyland before the park even had its official opening. Walt and the boy, with the the boy’s family watched as the cranes lifted the train cars onto the track. Everything had just arrived from the Burbank studio that morning and nothing had yet been tested. Walt personally led the boy into the railroad car and the train departed on its maiden run. As the train made its way down the tracks, Walt would point out attractions to the boy and even let the boy give a few blasts on the steam whistle. When the time came for the family to leave, Walt gave them an original piece of artwork from his film Lady and the Tramp, all finished up in a gold frame. The family left, the boy’s dream having come true, and immediately Walt went to his staff. “Don’t mention this to anyone — and above all, no publicity,” he stated firmly. None of his employees ever said a word about it until after his death. In the end he just wanted to make dreams come true, and he didn’t feel the need to announce it to the world when he did. Throughout Disneyland there are clear water attractions such as Small World, Splash Mountain and the Pirates of the Caribbean with their own body of water. Then there are the dark water attractions which are all connected together. The clear water attractions are isolated but the dark water attractions are connected. This stream is attached to the moat that goes around Sleeping Beauty's Castle to the left but to the right it's tethered into the river from the Jungle Cruise. Having the water flowing adds so much background sound and energy which emotionally makes us feel like we are someplace tropical. One of the subtle details that makes Adventureland feel tropical is this stream right along the edge of the Indiana Jones queue and the beginning of the treehouse. This stream is creating the sound of water that makes us think that we're someplace in the wilderness. This water is connected to the rivers of the Jungle Cruise. But aside from the adventurous water noise, all of the plant life, the rock sculptures, the noise of the water are pieces of the puzzle that feel distant from one another when really they're quite close.
At the head of the waterfall or the pump, that helps recirculate the water to all the different destinations, so the water system can fully irrigate and self-regulate not go stagnant. Timberline Twister and the Camp Bus is completely gone. Speculation online is that there's going to be another kiddie roller coaster. Camp Snoopy is still working on the Woodstock's Airmail.
