Knott's Berry Farm is celebrating it's 100th anniversary all year long!
There's a story behind this pie tin. About 8 years ago, I had asked my dad to get me a KBF pie tin when he went to eat at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Here is the story as he retells it....
"I got the pie tin at the Chicken To Go/ Farm Bakery Shop which is located between Mrs Knott's Chicken Dinner and the gift shop at the end of the California Marketplace outside of the park. I asked the young guy working at the counter on the bakery side, if they had any old pie tins and that I would like to purchase one for my daughter who's now living in Texas. He said "no, but an elderly lady dropped one off some time ago and I just put it in the back." He told me that I could just have it at no charge because they haven't used them in years and they will never use it. I told him that I would love to have it! He said " it's yours ".
People could buy freshly baked pies from KBF and after use, some customers would return the pie tins back to the Knott's Farm Bakery. How LUCKY am I to have gotten a piece of history?
